Trump - Cowardly Lion or America's Savior?

Mr. Trump still controls his destiny, and how history will regard him.

Mr. Trump chose to run for office. There weren't thousands of petitions circulating with millions upon millions of signatures begging him to run - the opposite of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D, CA) today.

Nor was a gun put to his head, or the use of blackmail. No, Mr. Trump freely made his own choice to run - probably more for his ego than anything else. Until he actually won, it easily could have been a strong move to increase the "Trump" Brand.

After squeezing out a victory against Hillary, something strange happened. His boisterous tone - Winston Churchill minus a lot of the intellect - resonated with Americans.  Mr. Trump immediately grasped the low-hanging fruit: Fossil fuel production, lowering of taxes, the drastic reduction of Islamic terrorists, border security and a sense America was the World Power.

By the most recent election, his promises for the future were based on sound logic: Reshoring critical business commerce - in particular, seriously needed pharmaceuticals and being more involved with rare minerals - in essence, keeping China in check.

He focused on additional jobs being created or kept here, Americans keeping more of their take home pay, and correcting his biggest flaw from the first term: government spending. Going forward, he planned on lowering the federal budget, thus reducing the size and scope of D.C.

Obviously, COVID was a fly in the ointment, but not enough to keep voters from overwhelmingly re-electing him to a second term. Well, minus the fraud captured in countless videos and affidavits. We are then led to believe a senile Mr. Biden actually received more votes than Mr. Obama! And is now our official President.

The final tally pegged Biden at 80 million votes with Mr. Trump receiving 75 million; with so much fraud, it is easy to believe Mr. Trump's actual number was in the 90s.  And how many conservatives didn't vote? Pretty scary for Liberals.

This is where Mr. Trump's problems began. He swore multiple times there wouldn't be socialism in America during his lifetime.  But since November 4th, he has largely been quiet.

One could argue the President was simply caught flat-footed - no safety nets in place to take on the fraud. Perhaps, his legal team wanted him to stay low profile while they worked their cases. Or maybe Mr. Trump was embarrassed how easily the 2020 Election was stolen from him.

Regardless, he kept his mouth shut. Even after Mr. Biden was sworn in, Mr. Trump still remained relatively low-key for someone of his temperament. Has he given up? Just wants to play golf every day? Or focus exclusively on the eleven or so Republicans he wants out of office?

As each day passes, his legacy grows weaker, not stronger. His constituents see him less as the President who seemingly was on their side, and more of the carnival barker who yelled 'You're Fired!' on a reality show.

His support has gone from a strong boil to the point where we are not far away from it being a cold, Rocky Mountain stream.

Mr. Trump didn't strike while the iron was hot, but he still has the chance to completely flip the script: Start his own party within the Republicans. Think of the Tea Party, only better organized with a formidable leader out front - Himself!

In one fatal swoop, millions upon millions would join his group. Other conservatives would fold themselves into it. Why? His strongest characteristic is leadership. Mr. Trump would have an organization the likes this country has never seen before. For all practical purposes, he would envelop the current Republican Party.

It truly is our only hope. Without a force of tremendous magnitude and the money to put the proper organization in-place, conservatives don't stand a chance.

There isn't anyone else who can accomplish what needs to be done. It is Mr. Trump, or liberals for life. The Left will control the voting mechanisms; they will expand the government to new heights with little opposition; they will create a socialist society with no resemblance of the greatest country every to exist - America.

So what will Mr. Trump do? Will he be the cowardly lion who fades off into the sunset? Or a man hell-bent on saving the greatest Land of Opportunity - the legendary last, best hope for mankind on Earth?

Only time will tell. And it becomes more precious by the day.

Freedom is never more than generation away from extinction.

 - Ronald Reagan

Mr. Trump - and us joining with him - is the only hope:

  • For our future generations to have all the freedoms we hold dear.
  • To have the belief dreams can be realities.
  • To live in the greatest country ever created under God - America.

Author is a dope. And an Anti Trumper, which is her/his right. Read this nonsense before and frankly...seems to be a left wing operative.

April 5, 2021 12:25 PM

Sadly, this would only happen in a movie.....

April 5, 2021 1:34 PM

Yes, same bs rhetoric as this authors previous posts. Analogies used are asinine. All about assigning blame as if Trump can singlehandedly defeat the msm, rinos, leftists, etc....

April 5, 2021 2:13 PM

I'm a little confused at some of these comments... "There isn't anyone else who can accomplish what needs to be done. It is Mr. Trump, or liberals for life." does not exactly sound like something a Never-Trumper would say. The author sounds more like a Trump-for-Lifer. A more coherent argument against this article would be that it ascribes *too much* importance to The Donald - he is the Indispensable Man, the Only Saviour of our country. Which, if true, means we're doomed anyway - Trump spent the last four years fighting basically alone, which as Rico points out, is not humanly possible to win that way, and no knock on Trump that he wasn't quite able to accomplish the impossible, particularly since he came so astonishingly close.

I have to disagree with the assumption that Trump ran for office to satisfy his ego. Nearly 40 years ago, in interviews still available online, he expressed concerns about the direction of our country, particularly with regard to China, and was asked if he would ever consider running for President. He had been thinking about running for decades but probably decided that if he didn't run against Hillary, there might never be another opportunity, given our parlous state post-Obama. During his presidency he lost an estimated two billion dollars of his personal fortune. Ego simply does not explain these facts.

Surprised Scragged would print an article like this. Way below their standards.

April 5, 2021 7:21 PM

If you wanted to say up until mid 2016 that Donald Trump ran to massage his ego, grow his brand, or some other form of self aggrandizement, fine.

But that viewpoint doesn't hold water, and hasn't held any since inauguration day 2017 at the very latest.

In fact, it's completely the opposite of observable reality.

I find it likewise absurd that support for him has cooled so significantly. I also find it hard to believe that all he is doing now is playing golf. Total nonsense.

With the election safely stolen and no one in positions of responsibility willing to do anything about it while there was time, his options are severely limited. Quite obviously, he sees fit to lay low for the time being, let them do as they will, for he is in no position to stop them, and leave them exposed for the frauds, charlatans, grifters, and fascists they quite manifestly are. Meanwhile, he seems to be working to pick off troublesome Republicans and secure a firmer grip on the party.

April 5, 2021 9:27 PM

The problems were insurmountable due to Republicans squabbling among themselves. For years they complained abut Obama Care but had no plan to replace it. AG Barr allowed the Justice Department to drag things out until closing time. Time to retreat and regroup. The Battle has been lost through treachery of the left and some Republicans, but the war has not over.

I think Trump was the best President of my lifetime [70 yrs]. Having said that, I blame him for our current situation. He could have and should have seized the ballots and voting machines in the contested states for forensic analysis. He could have prevented what is coming. He did not.

April 6, 2021 12:02 AM

In 2015 Trump opened a website soliciting applicants to aid him in his MAGA program. Nobody was hired. Instead, he hired "the swamp." Presumably no deplorable applicants were qualified for the jobs. This wouldn't surprise me. Deplorables don't organize or take political action to the streets. Instead, they whine about "the unfairness of it all" and look for others to do the heavy lifting.

With Trump gone Deplorables will be forced to save themselves. My bet? With 57 years of experience with connedservantism since the Goldwater campaign, my bet is they'll roll over for the leftist regime. This is what indolent cowards do.

April 6, 2021 1:37 AM

My president is Donald J Trump. He did so much for our country, bringing back jobs, holding the Chinese in check, pushing for Middle East peace, keeping Russia out of it. Now, dementia Joe is being told what to do by his handlers. Sadly, they are pushing him when he truly should return to his basement. Kamala is a communist and will do more harm when she's taken over. The 2022 elections will put more Republicans in congress and the senate and if America is to be turned around Trump should return in 2024 to once again bring American Greatness back. MAGA2 seems like an appropriate slogan. America needs Trump, at least 75 million Americans voted for him. Biden received far less votes but the Democrat machines fabricated many for him. Trump truly won in 2020!

April 6, 2021 4:51 AM

And how does Trump or any non-DemWit win at the fraudulent ballot box?

April 6, 2021 4:49 PM

Mr. Dog.
Good question. I believe the only answer, which will only elicit endless jeering from coast to coast, is to have the military run the election process.
I'm already ducking.....

April 6, 2021 7:30 PM

That is a great solution. I could not find a better selection of dedicated and honest people.

April 6, 2021 11:24 PM

ALPHA DOG: The solution is eliminating the Democrat cheating by bringing ballots into the ballot processing center at 4 am; Stopping the closing of the processing center and sending most employees home, then dragging ballots from under a table and counting them over and over; Ending using dead people to vote; Stopping ballot collecting and allowing a single person to carry the ballots to the processing center; Stopping the practice of collecting ballots in drop boxes instead of mailing them; Stopping counting unsigned ballots; Stopping allowing ballots that arrive after the deadline to be counted. These are a few problem areas IMHO.

April 6, 2021 11:33 PM

OK all us Trump true believers are united. But there is still some nagging truths or phony data ( you pick). Trump did lose to women in the suburbs. Biden got those votes. But at the same time, Trump got more blue collar men. Bad news is that suburban women vote twice the level as blue collar men. PTA supporters are more engaged than bikers. So can Trump get a broader appeal ? Or do we look for another candidate who appeals to the base plus draws a broader constituency ? Think Desantis or Nikki. May be Trump lost the old fashioned way ( more voters liked his opponent) . Can Trump draw more ? Or do we look for a more appealing alternative ?

April 7, 2021 2:07 AM

bsinn - Using statistical data from a fraudulent election? Let me think?...hmmmm?.....I'll choose 'phony data'.

April 7, 2021 2:02 PM

Lets be clear, Trump lost to illegal ballots mostly mass manufactured. The problem with taking immediate action was the weakness even in his cabinet which might have removed him. Any strong action would have been seen as that of a dictator. No, this needs to play out. I know what happened, and many of you know what happened. But the general public doesn't accept that explanation. Arizona is doing it correctly though it will be long and painful. Most Germans in 1937 thought Hitler was wonderful. The Press said so.

April 8, 2021 2:44 AM

HEAR HERE! RIGHT ON, DAVID!

April 8, 2021 2:50 AM

David - Arizona is trying to do the right thing. But is anybody else?
Trump had a DUTY to ensure each state a Republican form of government [U.S. Constitution, Art. 4, Sec. 4]. There was overwhelming reason to believe the elections in several states were rife with fraud. Are fraudulent elections consistent with a Republican form of government? Absolutely not.
The survival of our country, as the Founding Fathers envisioned it, is worth so much more that any concern Trump may have had being called a dictator, or being concerned about whether he might not have support in his Cabinet. He should have siezed the ballots and voting machines for the sake of the country. He did not. He failed U.S.

April 8, 2021 11:50 AM

When none of the other generals will follow you into battle, you had best fight another day with new generals. He had no support from the State AG's, no support from his own AG who dragged his butt on all the corruption cases and refused to force the hard fact reports to be published before the election. His own Republican Leadership was back peddling. A False-FLag operation, the assignation of Ashli Babbitt, and the use of BLM and AntiFa activists to misbehave at the rally all put Trump in a no-win situation. His strength was his voters. That is why we have fences throughout DC. The Dems recognize it, and what they would do would be to storm the Castle/Capital. You don't play the enemy's game. He is gathering his new generals and field officers. Be patient. Coming disasters are major financial inflation, the loss of Taiwan, more Middle-East conflicts and the world arming up for self-defense.
Big Tech will have issues with the pro-union laws being prepared. Expect behind the scenes squabbles over who runs the Government. Right now, I would say that Nancy Pelosi has the strongest voice in decisions. I don't expect her to live much longer. It is dangerous at the top, and she is mostly plastic. Deep Fake is making great progress, and Biden may live forever. What a wonderful world we live in! Brought to you by Sarcasm R Us.

Mr. Sparkman does not sound like the type of individual who seeks validation by counting the number of "likes" on his cell phone every morning, but ...this IS one. A great deal of wisdom in very few words.
Thank you sir.

April 8, 2021 2:50 PM

"...all put Trump in a no-win situation".
David - I don't consider Trump winning re-election the 'win' you speak of. No doubt a re-election 'win' would have been very good, but IMO the bigger 'win' would have come from seizing the ballots, seizing the voting machines, conducting a forensic investigation of same, and thereby proving to all Americans the criminal depravity of the leftists, their conspiracy with the CCP, their conspiracy with the intel community, AND also proving that Trump did in fact win. I believe Trump did have military support in SECDEF Chris Miller and certain specialized units within, to conduct such an investigation. Whether Trump would eventually survive his seizure & investigation of the ballots/machines, IMO is secondary to the bigger 'win' of having saved this country. We now have an established fraudulent election system that I do not believe can be overcome.

April 9, 2021 1:46 PM

In a modern Totalitarians society, it would not matter if it was proven that the election was stolen. The people would simply say: "of course, that was the proper thing to do. After all Trump was bad." It is "the end justifies the means logic of Machiavelli. We have lost the following: Drudge Report no longer publishes the unvarnished truth. Drudge sold the company and now it is totally leftist. We lost a great conservative and contrarian thinker in Rush Limbaugh. There are others, but they hare heavy handed screamers like Levin, or not so bright non-thinkers like Hannity. The humor and critical and cutting analysis of Limbaugh has not yet found a successor. And finally, we have lost/misplaced the genius of Donald Trump who fought for the common man and for the American nation and its place in the world promoting peace, not conflict. I look at Trump not so much as a man, as a movement in the direction of Liberty. His work is recreating politics and a viable party and media that is not for sale. Can he serve another term? Possibly. But it is far more important to set up the rebirth of liberty in our country that will last far longer.

April 9, 2021 2:15 PM

David - We will have to agree to disagree. I don't see that idea happening because time will cool the enthusiasm. Like me. It is time to begin refreshing the Liberty Tree. Another Jan 6 would be a good start. IMO.

April 9, 2021 8:26 PM

AlphaDog,
I remember the speech Francis Marion made before his house of Delegates about getting in a war with England, of the death and misery it would cause. Yet when it was forced on him, he fought cunning, thoughtfully and ferocious as the Swamp Fox. We will see what comes.
