What Do Holder and Obama Expect?

Heedless of the personal risk, we've repeatedly flouted the rules of political correctness and discussed the urgent necessity of having a candid conversation about race.
It seems we are not entirely alone in this: the pressure to confront what's actually happening in America is building. On Aug. 31, the New York Times reported "Murder Rates Rising Sharply in Many U.S. Cities."
MILWAUKEE - Cities across the nation are seeing a startling rise in murders after years of declines, and few places have witnessed a shift as precipitous as this city. With the summer not yet over, 104 people have been killed this year - after 86 homicides in all of 2014...
In Milwaukee, most of the victims and the suspects in their killings are black men under 30.
The Times listed cities whose murder rates have increased: New Orleans, Baltimore, Washington, St. Louis, New York, and Chicago. Naturally, they didn't point out that these cities have been run by Democrats for many decades, because some truths simply aren't fit to print.
What else would anyone expect? When Mr. Brown was shot on Ferguson, MO, instead of acknowledging the facts about crime and black people, our politicians are pretending that blacks get in trouble purely because the police are biased against them. Eric Holder, Attorney General of the United States, told the people of Ferguson:
I can remember being stopped on the New Jersey Turnpike on two occasions and accused of speeding ... I remember how humiliating that was and how angry I was and the impact it had on me.
Mr. Holder didn't tell us whether he'd been speeding or not, but he was clearly a victim of bigotry, right? In a word, "No!"
The New York Times described a study funded by Eric Holder's very own Justice Department and conducted on that selfsame New Jersey Turnpike, which discovered that blacks were in fact far more likely than whites to speed. The report was suppressed because it didn't get the desired answer.
Mr. Holder lied about his experience in claiming that police were prejudiced against black people. It later turned out that Mr. Brown had tried to take the officer's gun, he had not had his hands up, and that it was what police and law-abiding citizens call a "good shooting." Mr. Holder's statements and the chants of the "Hands up, don't shoot" crowd were so outrageous that the Washington Post felt compelled to publish an apology for transmitting falsehood.
In response to these lies, protesters chanted: "What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now!" To no one's surprise, black hoodlum are deliberately murdering police officers. While Mr. Obama has stated that he deplores the murder of police, he has continued to say that blacks are being treated unfairly throughout the land.
At the Minneapolis State Fair, a "Black Lives Matter" group chanted: "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon." A black murdered a Houston sheriff's deputy in cold blood.
Whenever a white or a police officer of any color shoots a black person, the media blame white hatred of blacks even if the officer is black and the target is a dangerous felon. When a black criminal shoots a white person, whether police or civilian, the media bleat about how the poor criminal suffered from poverty and racism. Then they segue to gun control, as if no black person had ever hated a white person.
Everyone in the country rightly recoiled in disgust when the psychopathic monster Dylann Roof shot up a church full of innocent black worshippers. Roof, who does not even deserve the customary honorific of "Mr.", said he was trying to start a race war. We all saw him for the evil lunatic that he is.
Alas, it wasn't reported that there are plenty of black people in full agreement with Roof, eager to start a race war in the other direction. Presumably the despicable "Sista Solove" has not actually executed anyone, so in that sense she is less of a demon than Roof is. Even so, shouldn't she be decried as evil almost as forcefully? But no. The Wall Street Journal asked Thomas Sowell about Ferguson:
"People want to believe what they want to believe, and the facts are not going to stop them," he says, adding that black leaders—from President Obama and former Attorney General Eric Holder down to Al Sharpton—"do all they can to feed that sense of grievance, victimhood and resentment, because that's where the votes are."
Eric Holder, his boss President Obama, and Al Sharpton are certainly not idiots. They have to know that their rhetoric is leading directly to the death of police officers. This leads directly to the death of innocent civilians that are killed by other thugs because some police are too hesitant to stop the thugs, and also to the death of innocent civilians mistakenly shot by jumpy and nervous police seeing threats on all sides.
Which raises the question: why are they continuing to fan the flames? Could it be that they too are in agreement with Roof and "Sista Solove," and would like to see a race war begin?
God forbid that this should happen! But if it ever does, simple math should tell you that it won't be the side of Holder, Obama, Solove, and Sharpton who wins it. Maybe they are too clever for their own good.

Sharpton doesn't want to see a race war because he makes more money off the non-war environment.
The problem here is, as it has been for a long time (always?), that the two sides of this fight are talking past each other, whether intentionally or not. Both sides use similar tactics -- twisting the facts to suit their agenda, demonizing their opponents, and generally using situations as a means to advance their side, to use the billy club of government to advance their goals, rather than trying to actually solve the problem.
I grew up Republican, so I used to think only "the liberals" did this. But now that I have become more open, more libertarian, I recognize more and more "conservatives" doing the same exact things.
The general police issues in the media recently are a good example of that. Black Lives Matters says most cops are virulently racist and brutal. Conservatives respond that no, most cops are righteous and unbiased, aside from a few bad apples.
The truth lies somewhere in the middle. The problem isn't one dimensional, either. Racism is one issue, but the militarization of policing increases brutality and reduces positive impact for all interactions, regardless of race.
Racism is an interesting issue, so lets deal with that first.
Black Lives Matters is right in a way -- we do still have racism. Looking at stats, talking to friends of various races, there is evidence, statistics that support that claim. Where they're wrong is their claim of overt, intentional racist actions, and vitriolic demonization of the white man as the source. What remains is a more begnign, subconscious bias that all people have regardless of race, a bias toward people like themselves and against the other.
Neither liberals nor conservatives want to admit that they have that sort of baseline instinctual impulse toward the same and against the other. But study after study shows it. Liberals are wrong that racism is the problem. Conservatives are wrong that there is no racism.
Both sides are happy to quibble over the relatively minor issue of racism and conveniently ignore the much bigger problem of the militarization of policing over the past half century. Both sides are happy to have a larger and more authoritarian police force and justice regime that they can use to further their own interests.
Warrior cops are the big problem in policing today. The modern system in policing was born of the drug war, enhanced by the surveillance state, and fed by the media frenzy that takes every incident and blows it into a massive fear monster.
So Hank, what facts did Mr. Offensicht twist to suit his agenda?

The article does NOT deny racism exists. It marshalls FACTS, the denial of which will make sensible addressing the race issue impossible.
Sure, it doesn't say "racism doesn't exist". Instead, it takes the veiled approach of poking fun at a bunch of allegations of racism and making policy suggestions that only make sense if racism is a trumped up situation that doesn't really exist.

There should be no "storming of houses". No knock warrants are a constitutional travesty of the highest order.
Racism will always exist. Racial profiling by the police will also always exist, and that's neither good nor bad in the abstract. Profiling is just profiling - you go where the data leads you. If there's an affinity for a particular type of crime among a particular race, your profile data should be adjusted accordingly.
Race is kind of red herring to all this, as it always is. For instance, Suppressive Liberals use racism to paint anyone that speaks against Islam. Racism has become the Scarlet Letter of the 21st century. It's better to be a murderer than a racist.
The problem with police has nothing to do with race. There are racist cops in both directions. The problem with police is militarization across the board - from general policy and language to tactics and weaponry.
Ask the average cop "what is the one thing you'd recommend to all civilians to make police interactions work better" and you'll get the same answer.

They typically say:
"Comply. Whatever you're being asked to do, don't get an attitude or start asking questions. Just comply. That allows us to do our job in an orderly way and get done quickly so we can move on. We don't want to hurt anyone, nothing is personal, we just want to do our investigation as quick as possible to move on."
A lot of civilians would nod along in agreement, but the implication there is staggering! These are normal level-headed cops and spokesmen for police departments too, not jar heads!
That's a Police State, folks. When the cops can grab people at any time, kick down doors, etc and their only response is "hey, just comply and it will go quickly"... Jesus.

You are right, those who deny there are racists greatly err. Most of them today are black! And with the alacrity when which non-racists who are white are smeared with the epithet, a REAL white racist is stupid to come out of the closet.
@Hank - Scragged is well aware of police abuses, and we write about them routinely with grave concern. As citizens, we are in more danger from an uncontrolled government force than we are from thugs, and there is less we can directly do to defend ourselves.
But we do need to be concerned about both problems.
